FKNMS, with National Marine Sanctuary Foundation, Mote Marine Laboratory, Coral Restoration Foundation and Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF) will be hosting a premier of the documentary “Chasing Coral,” throughout the Keys on Friday, July 14.
The movie is made by the same team that made Chasing Ice several years back and chronicles the unprecedented rate of decline in coral throughout the world’s oceans and includes underwater footage shot in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. The film will show some of the effects of climate change, coral bleaching and ocean acidification.
Special, free-admission screenings are scheduled at the following locations:

- Marathon Community Park, 200 Ocean, 36th Street, Marathon – 8 p.m.
